We are delighted to announce that Queen of the South is now amongst only a handful of Disability Confident Leaders in Dumfries & Galloway.  This important achievement makes them not only a Leader in their field alongside The Usual Place, Dumfries & Galloway Council and Better Lives Partnership, but it also makes them an inspiration to other employers to move through all the levels of the Disability Confident Employers’ journey to ensure more inclusive workplaces throughout Dumfries & Galloway.

We are delighted to be able to present Queen of the South with a really important Disability Confident certificate.
Our CEO, Craig McEwen and Employer-ability Mentor, Sharon visited Queen of the South FC earlier in October to complete their Disability Confident audit. This has resulted in a promotion in levels from a Disability Confident Employer to a Disability Confident Leader.
***Congratulations to Queen of the South FC***
Queen of the South FC is now only the fourth organisation to become a Disability Confident Leader in Dumfries and Galloway, along with The Usual Place, Dumfries and Galloway Council and Better Lives Partnership. All these organisations have worked through the levels of the scheme and now have signed up to helping to raise awareness by encouraging employers to think differently, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in their workplace. Dumfries & Galloway also has many other employers at other Disability Confident levels: ‘Committed’ and ‘Employer’. We look forward to working with Queen of the South FC to ensure more businesses and organisations become part of this initiative.
Disability Confident is a voluntary Government initiative to help employers better understand and act on the benefits of employing disabled people. It encourages businesses to create a more inclusive environment where disabled people can fulfil their potential.
