Luke is a Lived Experience Trainer and continues to help us out
Posted on: 09/10/2024, by : Leah MetcalfLuke is a Lived Experience Trainer who spends most of his time training businesses and organisations in Autism Awareness. He is also part of the team who delivers our Good Connections for Autistic Adults events across the region.
Before taking up this post, Luke also trained here in the cafe and sometimes he pops back to be part of our Front of House team. Today he is working on hot food service which also involves clearing tables after customers have left so they can be made ready for the next customers and all the dishes can go back to the kitchen for cleaning and to keep everything flowing in the service.
Luke is separating different types of crockery and cutlery, clearing food off plates and emptying liquids left in the bottom of cups and cartons. He will then sort food waste from general waste and all this speeds things up in the kitchen where everything is cleaned.
Luke will then clean the table and chairs with spray using colour coded cloths, before resetting it and placing the menu for the next guests to enjoy.
Well done Luke!
