A peek behind the scenes to see John Swinney MSP, First Minister of Scotland visiting The Usual Place yesterday.
He was given a tour by Katie, Harry and Lewis where he met lots of young people on our programmes and heard from them first hand about how The Usual Place is making a difference in their lives.
He also met members of staff, customers, trustees, OT students on placement and volunteers, as well as talking to SVQ Assessor Chef Tony Budde from Dumfries and Galloway College, Jan Pringle from South of Scotland Enterprise and representatives from The Globe Inn and The Cairndale Hotel & Spa – employers who have contributed hugely by working with young people to enhance their training, support their journey and who now employ graduates of The Usual Place.
Local MSPs Emma Harper MSP and Colin Smyth MSP were also here to talk to The First Minister about the value of The Usual Place here in Dumfries & Galloway.
