In the last months of 2020, students Kate and Katie joined The Usual Place team on a placement for their Occupational Therapy degree, spending seven weeks with our staff and young people.

Following their very successful placement, the students made the decision to nominate us for two awards offered by the OT Society.

They have nominated The Usual Place for the “Best Placement Experience (Role-Emerging)” Award and have nominated our Early Enablement Officer Sandra McGrath for the “Best Practise Educator (Role Emerging) Award.

We are proud to have made such an impact on Kate and Katie and we hope that they take all they have learned from our young people forward into their careers.  We wish both the very best of luck in their futures.

Sandra, who worked closely with the students to develop tools alongside the young people, is happy to have been nominated and the whole Usual Place team would like to give a big congratulations to her for this achievement.
