John Swinney MSP, First Minister for Scotland called in early this morning to see us here at The Usual Place before the cafe opened as he was in the region and had heard about the photography exhibition organised by @U3A Dumfries Camera Club and Dumfries Lions Club.
He also wanted to see how everyone is getting on following his formal visit in April last year.
While he was here, The First Minister met Leah, who took his coffee order and talked about her dual role as both a paid Information Intern at The Usual Place as well as a trainee in the front of house of our cafe.
He also met Occupational Therapy Student, Holly who is on placement from The University of Glasgow, Dumfries Campus. Holly was getting ready for the cafe opening with Mentor Gail.
Ryan and Keira also met The First Minister and helped organise coffees for other members of his team, whilst Madeline – an S3 Student on a work experience placement from Dumfries High School – Official served his coffee.
